Cafe Sunlight CIC is an eligible caterer for City of London Corporation events at the Guildhall

Café Sunlight CIC has been awarded eligible caterer status for City of London Corporation events at the Guildhall as of 1st January 2015.  The social enterprise, which is based in the Sunlight Centre in Gillingham, was introduced to the City Corporation back in November 2011 where they were asked by the Social Enterprise Mark to cater for a breakfast briefing at the Launch of their 50in250 campaign.

Paul Clark, chair of Café Sunlight CIC said “the Social Enterprise Mark helps corporate and private customers quickly ascertain that our business is a certified social enterprise. The Mark, through initiatives such as the 50in250 campaign helps to raise the profile of the Social Enterprise sector. Over the past 18 months within our business alone we can identify something in the region of £35,000 worth of business that is directly or indirectly attributable to the mark.”

Café Sunlight has had a great start to the year.  The team were catering at Guildhall in January for a canapé and drinks reception where guests enjoyed some of our favourite canapés, including mini shepherds’ pies, parmesan shortbread with honey roasted cherry tomatoes and feta, and aubergine & mint bruschetta.  Other events included a 10 year celebration dinner at Guildhall and a breakfast where we were proud to serve delicious Kentish organic produce from Chegworth Valley farm as well as Audrey’s famous homemade breakfast muffins.  The team have also been up at the National Centre for Circus Arts in March for the launch of the Arts Impact Fund where we served up some new canapés, including ginger & lime chicken skewers which were very popular.
